About the same as anything. Nice clean one on iconic auctions right now. Problem with them is they are very easy to abuse because they wheelie in just about any gear and they blow fork seals easily with jabroni’s riding mile high wheelies and slamming them back down. Also low mileage is suspect because you can unplug the wiring harness from the speedometer and just use the tach to gauge your speed.
My favorite street bike out of the current stable is my R1200GS Hp2e. It's fast enough and handles well enough to have a good time hustling it down a curvy road plus it's comfy and if I get motivated enough, I can put the dirt tires on and have fun there as well.
I have three bikes plated right now, a Grom, FJR1300, and a 98 900RR. The 900RR gets pulled out more than the other two. That thing is just raw, unfiltered fun. It has a Two Bros carbon can for that deep sound, a Ohlins shock, and Ktech'ed front. And somehow, for a 5'7" midget, it's not uncomfortable.
My very first zx12 had ~48,000 miles when I sold it in 2003. Nothing more than oil changes, brakes, & loads of tires... 1 set of warrantied clutches. The 200mm rear was ridiculously expensive for such a shit tire so I mostly ran 180s. At the time the demographic for the bike was older diehard kawipukes that had a buck or 2.
Haven't owned as many bikes as some on here but I'm giving the nod to the GSXS1000GT+ It's a great bike that transforms from touring to sport to chill by removing or installing 2 panniers.
I did ride it at the Plano dealership Suzuki demo and I will say if the color had been blue I might have traded the GT for it. It does easy up wheelies real nice
My old pig VF 1000R,or the red white/blue Night Hawk S. Neither one did anything well,but they gave me some awesome memories and the 88 750 slingshot that started a career of breaking my left shoulder,and ribs. It was a great time to see these bikes as a kid
Yesterday morning as I was blasting around the twisties of WV I would have answered without hesitation- my 950SM. By the afternoon the answer wasn't as clear... a couple hours on the roadside waiting for my friends to find me a battery kinda soured the experience. Apparently a bad R/R fried the battery (it was literally smoking and so swollen it was hard to get out). The last couple hours of the ride in the dark was not fun- following my friend because my head and tail lights were non-op. I've only done a test ride on one, but pretty sure my backup answer would be 1290 SDGT... preferably new with a warranty and a good dealer nearby.
Several bikes in the fleet but the ones that always get the most miles are the 1st Gen FZ-1 and the 6th Gen VFR800.
Hey Ive got the same bike! Im just not gelling with the feet forward riding position. I can ride it for an hour but after that its a stop every 30 mins to get feeling back in my legs.
