33k miles 2 owners. What should I look for? I had the old silver/red one,but Damnit This be calling me!!
I’ll try for some serious input. Looks like a clean bike. On its own just as a motorcycle it’s probably worth $1500-$3000 assuming it’s ready to go. Tack on another $500 for nostalgia if you must. I’m basing this on other late 80’s - late 90’s sport/street bikes of which I regularly pursue on marketplace. I’m in the northeast so west coast value may differ.
If its still available Monday when we get back from this dumbass Disney trip,Im gonna get it. He thinks very highly of it, and is contemplating just keeping it. I'm not jumping through hoops to buy shit anymore! Especially out here where everyone thinks they are sitting on a secret gold mine. I guess Im having my mid life crisis / old man Corvette years coming up. I don't need another bike!!! But I ALWAYS!! need another bike!

I actually!! ended up getting it, after the lady backed out. I got it for $2600 Honestly, I wanted it waay too bad. Its spent its life parked on the street in San Francisco. Plastic is faded, has a new Hindle, but its rough! I don't have a clue where to find the side dash panels, as they are shot. Upper has been down, and the seat needs recovered. One fork seals leaking, valve cover gaskets leaking, and counter shaft seal is leaking. Its all fixable, but I should have been more patient. It ran great all the way home, but after a good run over the mountain coming home, it just shut down. I got it started again, it ran fine, but pulled the same shit 3 more times coming home. Gonna pull the tank, and clean that filter, and the fuel filter to start. The damn thing runs like a champ, except that hiccup it gets. I may end up just trying to find someone to fix/repaint it. \Plastic is hard to source, and a tank is damned impossible! I can get material for the seat,and do it myself. Pissed about the problems, but It was fun as hell until it started its shit. Its nothing near as clean as the 89 gsxr 750 I just bought, but I plan on making this one into a Lawson replica, since its kinda been loved on. Any help, leads on parts greatly appreciated!
Toof, mild projects are always fun. The run awhile until hot, shut off then go again might align with a coil(s) failing. I've never dived into this era of bike so no idea on the ignition system but the old saying about ignition fixing most carb problems rings true. Won't help with the bigger pieces or tank however, you might consider seeing if someone can 3d print the dash side panels. Good luck, sounds like you are building a nice stable of bikes which is way cooler than rocking NB's, knee high white socks and a Vette!
Dash panels are available from a guy in the UK. The plug caps are known for having issues from age combined with blocked spark plug hole drains. Ignitech make a great plug and play programmable ignition at a good price and stick coils from a newer bike are always a nice upgrade. Don't cheap on tank, pump and carb work. Since the carbs are downdraft, a flooded carb can drain straight down the intakes. Join a few FB pages, Fast 5 Valves is a good one if you're modifying stuff or racing it.

Any idea how to find the dash panel folks in the UK? Another person had mentioned them yesterday, but no one remember who. I appreciate the hell out of the suggestions,and tips.
Completely different note, but does anyone know what can bolt up to the frame, like updated forks,swingarm,wheels? I got my old R6 sitting in the sunroom! I wouldn't want to mess it up,but I guess I could play dress up with swingarm/front end on the FZ? What say ye!
