When is the Middle Georgia Kart Track going to become the new WERA? I mean really I'm sure if you want to secure both TV coverage and big corporate sponsors the Czar might hear you out, although I'm wondering if at this point they may dread the headaches associated with such a move and are currently counting their blessings that this isn't the case. Couldn't hurt to try them though so get to work and get us those two very difficult things to secure and we'll all be here waiting to hear how sweet the deal you scored is.
MGKT, just so we're clear... you wanted the ama to go back a lap because of the red flag..... that your son caused, and thus giving him the race win?
Reading all this, I did have a question come up that I couldn't find an answer to. Somehow Dane and Taylor were demoted for being involved in the accident, why wouldn't Josh be demoted as well. He obviously was involved in the accident that caused the red flag, so just because he didn't fall he is off the hook? I'm thinking the answer is probably who knows with the AMA, but if somebody has something to add in this regard, I'm interested.
Dane and Taylor never crossed the finish line for the final lap, Josh did. I think that had more to do with it than any attempt at saying who caused what.
Rick, Congratulations!! What a topnotch effort you guys put together from scratch. Fckn amazing! I hope funding comes on the heals of that race so you guys can continue. I was a little confused that the AMA allowed what sounds like an engine change for one team during a red flag? Anyway, you guys showed some real class before, during and after the race. Keep it up  Again, congrats to RM Racing and Project 1.
I was helping a buddy on his crew and it seemed from our pit spot that disalvos bike went behind the wall when they swapped engines - pretty sure disalvo went behind the wall also - correct me if i'm wrong but isnt there race over with at that point?
No 2.23.h - Any motorcycle taken off pit lane without supervision by AMA Pro Racing official will be disqualified from the race.
Danes bike did That ghostrider stuff is scary for everybody else. I think it was in one of the SS races a ghostrider bike would have tagged 2nd place if the kid wouldn't have highsided himself coming off the turn. Thats probably the only time you can be happy with a highside. BTW, good point on your reply.
I've not researched this so I'm not positive this is the reason, but I would be that there were only 14 riders on the lead lap at the end of the race. Anyone on the lead lap who crashes on the final lap can never finish lower than being the last bike on the lead lap.
JU - It wasn't clear from the broadcast, but was the red flag/light displayed after Disalvo, et al had crossed the line (making the race complete) or before? If before, seems like the officials made a consistent call per AMA rulebook, including finishing positions for Westby and Knapp (based on my very non-professional perspective reading of it). What's your thought? "AMA rulebook, Section 2.23, par q: In the event that a race is deemed complete and the race was stopped due to a rider(s) involved red flag, the riders involved will finish at the back of their respective lap group. i.e. a rider involved in the red flag incident who was one (1) lap down at the time of the red flag would be given a finishing position as the last bike one (1) lap down." Stolen from another thread, and I am amazed, and was wrong. They obviously counted the first 5 guys across before the red flag, so Westby and Knapp got put behind everyone else that was on what would have been the lead lap. There ya go...
^ Glad to help clarify. I'm actually amazed the AMA/DMG appeared to have followed their rulebook to a T.
