All pieces are in right places for Fong, which didn’t come by accident and agree can’t take anything away from him. Shit I remember being at VIR on pit lane parked next to Fong when he was riding for Safety First. Was a super nice and polite “kid” back then. I’m very happy for him and the team. Cam B- I could see him hanging it up after this year unless something really good with a payday large enough appears. Even listening to him in interviews he just seems flat- like the fires there but just smoldering at the moment. I’d like nothing better than for it to be relit but my gut feeling says it won’t be. Talent doesn’t go away but having your body (mental and physical) execute it is another story
Unpopular opinion...CamB's problem is the bike, not CamB. Horsepower ain't everything and that thing looks like a chore to ride. I mean look at JD Beach last year, it looked like he forgot how to ride.... If they got Cam back on a Yamaha, the sky is the limit I think.
This. I think that bike takes factory resources to make work, not sure Tytler’s has the resources and money to do it, and it seems to me that there is a disconnect between what Cam wants the bike to do vs what the bike actually does. I think he’s mentally exhausted after a few years of that thing trying to kill him. I think he’d fly on the Yamaha, but the only way I see him going back is Jake retires, which sadly things seem to be trending that way. JD looked like he was on one of those bucking bronco rides and nearly killed his career last year. On the Honda, he looks like JD of old and seems rejuvinated attitude and speed wise.
I think that Bobby is showing his limits and Jake is showing the bike's limits. The same goes with the Suzukis, SDK is showing what he can do and Richie is showing what the bike can do. Cam is also showing what he can do but the bike is holding him back. JD is going better than the bike, since both Ashton and Hayden are on SBK Hondas and he is consistently beating them. The SBK field is small, but there is some real talent in there.
Didn't their team owner throw a temper tantrum last year and threatened to pull out? I wonder what the team atmospehere in there is.
IMO he is still the most talented rider out there. I think teams know it also. Would love to see him back on a Yamaha. It was sad watching the last race of 2024 at Jersey and you could just see how hard he was having to ride that thing to even stay close to podium.
Mike on the Mic killling it again, besides finding some three douchebag kids with personality of a wet mop to interview. That was cringe.
Getting married and having kids changes one's perspective. For some the racing still fits in, but for others the joy from family makes everything else seem pointless. I'm not saying that's Cam B, and maybe he's in the middle, but it changes you nonetheless.
I don’t think that is unpopular at all. I actually believe if you polled fans the majority would say it is the bike. Granted Toprak won on it last year with a special frame and concessions last and a factory BWW effort behind him. However, he was complaining earlier this year about how much better the Ducati is and how bad the BMW was without the concessions. Toprak maybe ahead again now, in WSBK, haven’t watched lately, but we know there is no way Tytler’s is giving Beubier the same package and support Toprak is getting. Edit: Oops looks like you guys covered it already.
In Supersport...there is 1 R9 that just smokes all the V2's down every straight like there is another gear in it. Strange The Suzuki's are down 1.5 seconds a lap at VIR. Pretty much a 1 mfg race the way I see it. Unless they discover a special gearbox or cam in a certain winner's bike.
Like the Ducati the last 3 years? I doubt they are going to make changes this year. Still close racing and every track will bring different bike strengths.
That five rider battle for P2 for damn near the entire superbike race was something else. Haven’t seen racing that good in MotoAmerica Superbike for a while…bravo gentlemen!
Kayla Yaakov battling Josh Hayes in 2025: awesome on multiple levels! Imagine if she had aome of those big, bad, go-fast man muscles...
