And by running 3 stop flat out Hammy was lapping 2.5sec quicker per lap! Freaking rules absolutely reward lolli-gagging around the track for 99% of the races.

    2.5sec is an eternity

What cracked me up was the last VSC where Hammy pitted and came out in front of RUS but was only like 4.5 secs in front. They go back green for what 4 laps and he just runs away and hides.

Kinda like Mladin pulling off an unheard of 3 stopper to win Daytona

I remember that first intentional three stopper by Michael Schumacher. It seemed insane at the time. Ferrari used to be smart.

I'll start off by saying I'm not a huge Hamilton fan-boy. It's probably more the hype around him and his rabid fans than a lack of appreciation for the driver himself.

That said, it was a beautiful win and well deserved. I was happy for him.

Did Ferrari hire somebody new on the strategy team? This one seemed primed for something they would screw up.

Hamilton running around on mediums was the chef’s kiss. Great weekend for racing, 24 hours of LeMans, Caddy and Corvette did well, too bad Garrett didn’t do so well in WSBK.

First qualifying I've watched this year. Had to dig to find the thread. Everyone lost interest?

I used to schedule my life around everything F1 and IndyCar, now I just don't care. Worst thing is I can't give an exact reason why. Yet I'll be up at 5am tomorrow watching the Moto3 race. Go figure.

I think its BS Georgie boy was able to set a pole lap while a car was in the run off/wall .... I'm not sure who to blame, but I guess the FIA.

Surprised Max tried different strategy from George. Seemed like he could just copy and beat his pace.

George for the win....Kimi still looking good for the title though.

Hate that George won but at least Kimi got to 3rd. I wish we could have seem Max and George go toe to toe for the win. I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't pit Max the lap after or before George. Cost him the win in my book. Lewis looked a little dejected after the race. Too bad I want him to keep his head in it to keep it interesting. Nice to see Hadjar have a good result. Maybe he can actually be a wing man for Max if there is a title run.

I agree. But he does still seem to sometimes be maybe a little too "energetic" during the opening lap(s) if he is not already in the lead. It is only his sophomore year in F1 (and he's only 19 yo) so maybe we can cut him some slack. Toto Wolff must be saying, "patience padawan, patience". :D
