Stumbled across a cool bike auction

One of these days a nice, original YZF600 will pop up for sale on one of those auctions and I'm going to take it home.

That TZR 250RS could be fun.
And that little Suzuki Street Magic thing is something I don't recall ever knowing about. A 100cc two stroke mini? Maybe I have to sign up and bid on a couple.

I have a complete gasket kit for one of those NS400Rs. One of them looks pretty rough, and neither of them have the fork fairings. At least the one with aftermarket expansion chambers and silencers has the optional seat cowl. Wonder what the donor bike was for the single sided swingarm.

That looks like someone got a shipping container of auction buys from Japan. Why they're on "Mayo Auction and Realty" is anyone's guess.

Love those NSR400s but Dave @Speedwerks once told me the transmissions are weak. You have no idea what you're getting. I think the nicer one has a CBR600F-something front end in addition to the single sided swingarm conversion.

These random little auction houses sometimes stumble on some cool stuff. Usually either estate sale and family doesn’t know enough to engage experts to list the items in more appropriate places or police seizures and they just don’t care/want it gone.

I see it with gun auctions. There’s 2 or 3 gun auctions per week somewhere in the country from these small auction houses. 50% of it cheap garbage or stuff so common or low value it’s literally not worth the shipping. 45% is pretty normal and decent stuff. And then 5% are some real gems and you have a chance to get a real deal on them. You just have to be careful because nobody involved knows shit about them so there may be silly oversights in descriptions/photos due to ignorance.

For example, I bet the fork fairings for those 400s and some other bits and pieces for these bikes are laying around the shop of the original owner and the family handling the estate doesn’t even know what to look for and the auctioneer doesn’t even know somethings missing.

95 with the bug eyes, NOT a YZF600r:Puke:.

I had a 95 YZF600 when they were new. It was a great street bike, ok track bike. I would ride it from Columbia, SC to Deals Gap and back in a day. No problem.

Stumpy, a friend of mine, showed up, grabbed it and all the spare parts I had for it and loaded it in his truck. He informed me that he was buying it. He road it for a long time. I wonder if he still has it?

I owned a NSR400 and two RG500 Gammas. Never had a problem with the transmission or anything on that bike. I probably only put 4-5k kilometers on it and it had 8k when I got it. Slower than the Gammas but seemed to handle a little better. It was only a street bike, never tracked it.
