I prefer a superbike tail- feel alot more. Guess I am used to it; and, now a race bike superstock tail feels too cushy. The height can be adjusted with different seat pad thickness. The downside is that the mounting points of the superbike tail end up needing reinforcing. The fiberglass just cant hold up over time to the force of the rider hanging off. So that the size of the mounting points simply grow over time. Rubber grommets help a little bit.
I switched to a sbk tail this year at Road A and was in extreme sensory overload for the first two rounds of practice. It was amazing the difference between the two.
What ever works for you. Some guys love it others hate it.Some sit on the tail section with no pads and like that. Most of the guys i know that are taller it doesn't really make that much of a difference to them.
I totally prefer a superbike tail for riding - much better feel. HOWEVER, when I end up in the saddle for about 5 hours a day, my ass simply hurts. With that being the case, I went back to a seat this year and am thankful for it. But if I limited my seat time more, I would definitely go superbike tail.
