They put # Cancel South Park in big white letters over a black background at the end of some episodes the season prior to their last contract renewal. It was a few years ago I think. They were making fun of cancel culture which was hilarious because it had the opposite effect. People started rallying online to keep them. They got the contract renewal a few episodes later if I remember correctly
They've publicly stated that both of them are essentially libertarian, and I think that's why their show works for such a wide range of tastes. They can go from ridiculing the absolute pompous, smug BS of people from San Francisco who drive EVs and smell their own farts, to suggesting a bunch of redneck hillbillies are willing to jump into a pile because a bunch of goobacks are takin' der jerbs. "We find just as many things to rip on on the left as we do on the right. People on the far left and the far right are the same exact person to us." - Trey Parker "I hate conservatives, but I really fucking hate liberals." - Matt Stone
https://thepoliticalinsider.com/south-park-creators-come-out-republicans/ “we’re republicans” is the quote I was referring to.
Saying something to make nearly every single person in the room plenty uncomfortable? Yea, that sounds about their speed, but I personally wouldn't hang my hat on that declaration.....
I'd say they trolled that whole room on purpose, as you said. Probably to make themselves laugh more than anything.
Exactly. They're anarchists and hate everyone. Punks, really. The good thing about it is that they'll never run out of material as both sides of the spectrum will provide their incessant dose of utter stupidity
Geddy Lee ! They even made fun of the Holy Trinity of prog, even though they where huge fans and personal friends with them.
Glad to hear it was funny, we will watch it tonight. Because Rick and Morty have been crapping the bed since they killed Rick Prime. This season has been lame..........
