Scott Russell’s bikes…

seeing that made me miss hearing Scott Russell's voice announcing shit. similar to James Whitham or Jack Burnicle or Nick Harris... just associate watching with those voices when i think about it, and i don't really watch much live any more cause of subscription BS.

anyways... who ran this one?

or this one was I guess Yanagawa?

i've always loved the ZX7RR with the Harris swingarm the most of any of them, total win the lottery and start a museum bike. I assume any of the Harris ones were in WSBK, but i don't remember any more.

You did?

@RM Racing i just never really liked the looks and the feel (got to check out a see of muzzy’s) and nothing I had could really use them so I never considered a set or two. Plus they were sort of pricey.
I had forgotten there were two options. Thanks for reminding me.

Arclight used them. I remember being at IRP in 99/2000 and they bent up a few that weekend.

Yanagawa and Hodgson

Finally saw the bikes via iconic’s post on Instagram. The Itoham Suzuka zero-4 replica and one of his 1994 superbike. Nice!

Ahh to be rich... would love to have that WSBK one in my living room.

I had a picture of Russell wheeling one of them all crossed up (maybe 91 - 94 or thereabouts?) from a motorcycle magazine hanging on my wall when i was in high school. It was either for winning Daytona or a championship or something. I just thought it was so badass and always wanted a green ZX7. Bought one. Love to look at it. Ride it? eh.. maybe if all the other ones are broken.20171022_113328.jpg

The Iconic guy paid Scott the reserve for both bikes in advance. They are still going up for auction. If they don’t hit reserve then he keeps them. If they beat reserve Scott gets another payout.
That’s actually pretty cool. He doesn’t bid against his customers and makes Scott whole with an amount he is happy to accept.

I had a 94 zx7r in the optional black, purple, and pink colorway. It was an awesome bike for a 20 somethings young man. I put a Muzzy Ti full system on it, a Dynojet stage 1 kit, and a K&N air filter. I took it to Daytona bike week in 95, spent the week running from the hotel to the dealership dyno, dialing it in. Ended up making 107 RWHP. Not bad for a 90's bike. Sold it in 98 or 99 to adult, and remodel our recently purchased home in the country. In 2005 I bought a 2003 ZX7R in the Orange Pearl colorway. We knicknamed her "The Fat Girl", fun to dance with but, you dont want to get caught by your buddies with her. I have a special place for the zx7r's in my heart, I even have a framed print of Scott Russell on the 93 for his world superbike fim championship, hanging in the garage. I am always lusting over them, when I see a clean one available.

Always was a Russell fan. My wife took the Yamaha Race Champions school at Miller in Utah, when Scott was a guest coach. She was able to ride two up with him during the school. She said it was quite the rush to have him effortlessly passing riders, with her on the back. Ski
