Was there back in 1990 when I think the Magnum xl200 was fairly new. Great park but was still a long wait for everything back then. Can't imagine the waits now, but would like to go back.
That reminds me of taking my 3 teenagers to six flags, arlington...we had season passes and we went like around 10pm. I go ride Titan and I'm coming off the coaster laughing like a school girl. Great coaster at night...so I'm trying to talk my kids into riding it. They were stone cold not having it...(they were riding the kiddy rides) but somehow I got them on it. ( my 2 daughters 14 and 12, son 16) They were SOOOOOO mad at me At the top they wanted off They screamed like they just saw Jason.
That looks like fun. Looks pretty smooth for what it is. I prefer the hanging ones as they are even more smooth. Im surprised as most of us on this forum are very comfortable going high rates of speed, roller coasters are a little boring for me. I dont like the ones that just beat you up, but the smooth ones that have paths like the video, those are great. Just wont go on any from a carnival. Im not that dumb.
Cedar Point (and most amusement parks) hack: Go on Mother's Day. It's the least busy day out of the year. My mom used to want to go then and it worked for everyone as a kid.
Went end of August 2 yrs ago. Camped there for a couple days. Perfect time to go, nit nearlynas busy. Steel Vengence was incredible for a wood coaster. 2 days of riding was more tham enough though
Naaww.......I aint ever liked that shit!! The damn monorail scared the hell outta me riding into Disney!
Kings Island is 20 minutes from us and we get season passes every year. We just pop in for a couple of hours at a time, ride a few things, eat blue ice cream and head home. Oh, and it's front car for everything except for The Beast. That one you have to ride back car because it rattles your teeth loose.
Had a great time at Cedar Point with my son and nephew years ago. We loved all of the rides. One thing we’ll never forget is after riding the stand up roller coaster, how funny our legs and feet felt afterwords. Great memories, for sure.
There's a local amusement park that charges nothing to park, nothing to enter and you can still buy tickets to ride anything you wish. For me it bumper cars ($3.50) and the haunted house (also $350). We watch parents take little kids into the haunted house and watch them come out all screaming and crying....good fun...all for $7! The wooden coaster there gets rave reviews in the coaster articles but it beats up my back so I gave that up a long time ago.
The Magnum XL line is always fairly short these days. I haven't been in a few years but I doubt I waited more than 15 minutes and often had zero wait. Millennium Force is an incredible roller coaster. I think that was my overall favorite. Top Thrill Dragster is just a bit too short.
That sounds like Knoebels in Pennsylvania. I don’t think I’ve been at that park in close to 30 years. It really is a great family place.
My nieces and nephews do the same thing. I went with them one day last year because my sister was in town and her kids are getting to the early teens and i figured it would be fun to go on the big stuff with them. Bad move. Either roller coasters have gotten much more intense or I'm turning into a big pussy. The Orion and the Diamond Back ones had me making promises to god that i definitely can't keep.
That big ass swing all the way in the back, Wind Seeker?, is the only one I'm like hold on now... My palms were all sweaty and I had to close my eyes.
Same. I used to live across the street from the iconic wood coaster at Belmont Park in Mission Beach. I never got tired of the screams and clattering of wheels on summer nights, but the thing is a CTE machine. The only time I rode it, I felt like I had a hard sparring session for the rest of the night.
