Damn. Glad you recovered. Reminds me how lucky I was to avoid a similar accident when I lost a motor in t16/17 at COTA last year - motor seized but not until I slowed and got off track.
As someone who has been involved in lawsuits as a witness and defendant I won't be posting anything that would remotely be an issue.
So, you're saying you regularly skirt the LAW?! You sir, are a threat to society! Send him to the gallows!! #snark
This question is not meant to offend, but Ive been wondering. Will, and can wera race Roebling while this (whatever this may be legally) is in the air. I think it sux all around because you guys have always ran a great outfit, and I hate to see this, let alone the shit eaters that come out of the woodwork to dogpile, and make assumptions. If this isnt something you can I answer,I completely undertsand. I think it was a dick move for the quotes from magazines, and track management that wasn't ever there..My 2 cents only ...
I crashed coming onto the front straight trying to go around the outside and hit the bumps and lost the front. Did a 1:11 the lap before and was feeling great. The corner worker said it’s the highest he ever saw a bike go. I slid so far almost to the trees and remember being on my back sliding with my arms crossed and watching the bike catch in the dirt and flip way up in the air.
WTF? Passing the ambulance?? I’ve been to a rodeo, a state fair, and a goat fuck but never passed an ambulance!
I was at that rain delayed race and had a trackside campsite at the other end of the track when that happened... was watching the race atop a neighbors camper on a 60' tv when the shadow of the explosion was cast. Wild stuff
At this point we are planning on running all of our events as scheduled. Can't see that changing. Lawyers are involved yes but that won't affect anything short term.
It's a thing...passed them a couple times during AHRMA races back in 2001-2002. Waving yellow=keep racing but don't pass anyone...waving ambulance flag=keep racing as normal, just try and give the flashy bus some room as you pass.
It's also common during endurance races to use the ambulance flag when the crash truck is circulating round the track to pick up a bike. I've passed the crash truck and I've also been a passenger on the crash truck while others passed us on the way back to pit lane.
