Week one in the books. Three days of chemo and four days of radiation. I'm on chemo break for three weeks now before round 2. Have radiation sun-thurs next week. I still feel fine and am doing my daily activities aka keeping up with Rainey , so I will rest tomorrow and get back at it Sunday. BTW. My doctors and care team are awesome in both chemo amd radiation. Radiation always has good Playlist but I'm only in there about 10 minutes
My dad did all of his chemo and radiation at the Werner center at Ohio State University and he’s doing great a few years later. His radiation mask is pretty cool looking, he keeps it as a reminder to live a full life now at 79. You got this, sir. kick ass and take names!
Today was day 6 of radiation and I had to see Dr.Doline afterwards. He didn't go into any detail but did say he is seeing positive progress already.
That is fantastic news....keep up the fight. I've always said.....a positive attitude will go a long way when fighting anything. You sure seem to have a positive attitude.
Today's update not so good. I know this is how cancer works and it's the shitty part. White Blood Cell count is down a from 4.47 to 2.26 and platelets dropped from 151 to 123. WBC being low puts me at risk of getting sick. So I will be wearing mask, washing hands three time more that normal and keeping my ass in the house.
Today 1-8 update, I'm halfway through my initial treatment plan i've done 16 of 33 radiation treatments, what was left is shrinking still and Dr.Doline is happy, I see him every Tuesday so hopefully we will have more good news then. I also just finished my 3rd day aka round 2 of chemo today and am back on chemo vacation until 1-27. I still feel good and not have any bills effects for the chemo. Radiation has my taste buds off a bit and my skin slightly irritated. Dr.Szeles my oncology/hematology doc is satisfied with how I am dealing with the chemo, my attitude and how im responding to Dr.Dolines radiation. So until 1-27 i will be doing radiation only every weekday, get blood work checked, meet with NP, nurse navigator and Dr.Szeles before chemo starts back. Ready for warm weather and motorcycle riding. I guess I will finish this 400 ninja up and try to come play if I can scrape up the funds. If not I will come spectate, help out and drink your beverages.
I finish up my 2nd round of chemo+radiation nest week. Stage 3 lung that came back after 8 months clear. Thought you could use a screen saver
Everything is everything. O have four more scheduled radiation treatments will be finished next Tuesday. Doc said the piece of tumor that was left during surgery due to being wrapped around my facial nerve has shrunk/shrank but didn't say it's all gone. I guess I will know on Tuesday after my last radiation treatment. If any is still around nerve, I assume I will get ct scan to see how much then make a new plan. Also I finished day 2 of round 3 chemo. After chemo tomorrow, I will be on chemo vacation for about 2.5-3 weeks before my last scheduled round of 3 days . So all in all we've made progress. Now it will be blood work, scans, etc to see what if any is still in me and what we will do going forward. I do know my oncology/hematology doc plans to do immunotherapy on me so I will continue to go for infusion to get this. Don't know the frequency or how long in will have to do immunotherapy ,will find out in the next few weeks between these last two rounds. On the bright side my blood work so far has been pretty good and I've not had any of the cancer side effects except a few and I tolerated them pretty well.
That's good. I hope things stay that way. I know someone currently dealing very undesirable side effects after getting treated for breast cancer. That shit sucks.
Worst part of radiation was taste buds going away and everything tasting metallic, the metallic taste is gone now but everything is just blah tasting. Also the brun on my neck even using all the ointments , I still burned. It's trying to heal up now, my shirt collar rubbing it is causing delay
Yes it only dropped once but has been in the good the last two currently 6.81, platelets at 100. My neutrophil is a tad low but nothing to be worried about
