i love my man Dave Moss (He raced for us years ago) but IMO there is a better way to ship suspension.

Personally we use old GUN CASES. I know a lot of you racers ship suspension to Traxxion, GP, etc so i wanted to let ya know what we found works fantastic and almost never will your forks get damaged. We found a few on CL for cheap and picked them up to use at our shop. Just be sure to ask for them back..those suspension guys like to hold onto them :D

i've used to recycle my pro circuit fork boxes, gun cases been used for a while though in the mx world
 
wish i would have known this before...spent about $20 on a box and packaging, and pretty much a one time deal. next time it will go out in a gun case.

why would a box be a one time deal.. gun case is great, but i have had the same boxes for shipping forks for years.

I just save the box that Traxxion shipped my forks back in initially so when I ship them in next year for a refresh, I still have the box.
 
Can you just send a gun case with a label on it UPS, or do they freak out? I wouldn't even consider trying that USPS. Or, just buy a new case and stuff the whole works into the box the case came in?

You put them into the gun case and zip tie it closed. They ask me when I drop it off what's in it. I kind of like them thinking it's a gun, so hopefully they don't throw it around. I've also heard of people writing "not a firearm" on it though.

yep thats all we do. not sure if you have to or not but i think its the polite thing to do.
 
Yeah, probably not the best idea

to walk into the post office w/ anything remotely affiliated with a rifle!
 
Yep, gun cases are a great investment. I use the long ones like the SKB Rifle Case or their tactical rifle case (a little shorter) to ship a few at once. They all come with lifetime warranty and a $1500 content coverage, but I doubt that you will ever need that if you use these cases.

Awesome idea... I need to send my suspension off after sitting for almost 3 years... I think I'm gonna go pic me up a gun case tonight, if they're really that cheap...
 
I shiped mine to a guy wraped in bubble wrap inside a gun case got them back loose in the gun case with the shock rubbing on the fork slider. will not use that jack ass again.
