WTF is the point of the "safety car" exactly? They take off behind all the racers and follow them around 30-50 seconds behind the pack... because? Are they supposed to jump out of the car and assist at the scene of a wreck on the first lap? Just seems so dumb...

Good question. They used to do rolling starts behind the car so it would gather them up. Now, I dunno.

I presume, there is a doctor on board. In case of a serious first lap accident there is immediate help. I know in F1 this use to be standard practice.

He obviously has some talent, but was coming up short. At 5'9" I dunked very easily back in my day.... had some hang time, and could get up high. Makes me wonder how much more I'd done if I'd tried the Russian strength training.
