I had never followed any kind of racing until I started doing it myself. I mean, I lived in Daytona for 7 years and never once went to watch any racing, which is stupid because I've always been into motorcycles.
I was doing track days at NOLA in 2022 and lamenting the sparsity of events there when someone mentioned a series that raced motorcycles at NOLA and thought "I'd like to try that". I rode at Jennings 3 times back in college, and thought that they were the only 2 places in the country to go ride a motorcycle on a track until I heard someone at NOLA talking about going to Alabama to get their hair cut or something. Now 4 years later, I can't believe I was so ignorant. If I had known about MotoGP and the AMA as a young adult, I'd have been all over it.
Candidly speaking, I was only able to watch half of the video so far. If you watched the entire thing, did they mention the infamous history of former owners the Whiddington (sp?) Brothers? And why they landed planes on the track in the middle of the night?
No, they kept it about the track development. There was a blurb or a video posted here a while ago that told that story, though.
What's crazy, is they didn't give him a lifetime ban. I think he couldn't race for 2 years, but he's back at it.
