NO photos on classifiend adds..WTF???

Please tell me again why people do not post images of the bikes they are trying to sell??? Why ask for pictures via email?

its not fun looking at classifieds with no pictures.

 

Simple. People abused it. They'd post photos here and use it to post photos all over the net and that burned a lot of bandwidth.

So, a few ruined it for all.

Good enough reason?

 

Is it ok to link to photobucket?

 

Have at it. Linking burns someone else's bandwidth and costs them money.

Hell, post the photo from photo bucket as an attachment, I don't care.

Just don't steal the photo from Crash.net, Deano's or the usual places just to show something you want to talk about. That's theft. And don't give me the "fair use" arguement, I don't care because I'm a bullheaded jerk and mongo is even more so. Papa will just make you look stupid.

 

I road the short bus to computer class I posted links to photobucket for a couple bikes I was selling and wanted to make sure I wasn't pissing anyone off. I understand the copyright deal 100% so no worries there. As far as looking stupid, I dont need any help w/that.

You can have all the photos you want...you just have to host them yourself.

That and to keep the classifieds and the entire BBS free. 13X is kick ass and does a hella job hosting the BBS but they are not UNICEF.

Those ads at the top of the page from some killah companies pay for the band width, as do those annoying ones after the first post in a thread help, if you click them, to cover the costs but if the BBS suddenly becomes the host for photos all over the place, cost spiral and that money has to come from somewhere. I'm not rich and don't want to pay for SRADstud1 to put his 12 o'clock bar photos up at GIXXER.com, Stunta.com, MILFhunter.com and at dumbass.com. Do you?

You're already paying a huge amount extra on your race fees to cover me as your friendly neighborhood moderator, want to pay some more to pay for the BBS?

 

Kind of like looking at a Playboy mag and you can only read the articles!!

Just need to take that Photobucket.com for dummies class at the local tech school and the world would be a better place!

 

The software for the BBS should have a setting to not allow hotlinking if bandwidth is an issue.

I just use www.photobucket.com if I need to post pics here, takes a little time but it works.

 

You guys have to remember this is Dave's only job.
