How much do you spend at Costco? Personally, Costco pays me to shop there. I typically get around 700 a year in rewards from my executive membership. That's after the cost for the membership is already taken out. Then I typically get over 1000 in rewards from my costco visa. 5% back on gas, and their gas is very high quality as well as cheaper than anywhere else. Fill up at least one car every week. Pay off the card the day the charges post. Not to mention, you get executive hours so you do your shopping with the store almost to yourself. No crowds!
 
I missed seeing this last week, was in Costco today and saw 6 single quarts in a box for 16.99 or 2.83 per quart for synthetic 5-30. 5w-20 was a little cheaper.

Could be, I know some things I've checked are better in the store. Just this past weekend, I needed some 5-gallon buckets at work. They are $3.89/99 at Harbor Freight and Home Depot. I was heading to Costco, but looked online first, and they were $10.99 for three of them. At the store, it was only $8.99 for three.
