Is it Winter yet?
Good morning my friends and fellow racing fans. We are at the ends of our second summer break. One race in 7 seven weeks has honestly sucked. But we are back at Aragon, which is one of my favorite tracks the way it is carved into the hillside. I will definitely miss this one on the calendar.
I think the Apes will still be the better bike but I think we will see one or two Ducs on both podiums. I’m hoping to see Pecco in better form as he usually goes well here. I expect to see 3 Apes minimum in the top 6 each race. Now we are in the full throttle second half of the season. Let’s get it on. IMG_9153.jpegIMG_9154.webpIMG_9155.png
 
Why isn’t it going to be on the calendar? What’d I miss?

And Bastianini confirmed at Trackhouse… another contender on an Aprilia next year…

Too many Spanish rounds already. Aragon will become the "reserve" circuit after 2027. According to my buddy Chad CBD.

This is the one with the big stone retaining wall right?

I always forget if that is Portugal or here…
 
And I look for MM to do his thing and for Bez to do his… I do hope all of Bez’ dnf, dns are over for the season… 10 rounds to go ain’t no way all of the contenders finish every race… as much as I really hope JM doesn’t win the chip it would be funny for him to take it to another manufacturer twice….

I’m torn as I really like Bez but MM’s story is great… and this might be his last chance considering Gigi is an idiot and listened to his feedback designing that bike :) they did have the real genius Rob Tuluie in their box in England… I really think MM will pull a Stoner in the very near future and retire with a smile

I don't think MM will out welcome his stay on the grid, but I don't see him going anywhere for a few years. Current contract aside, I think he wants to try out the new MotoGP platform until his contract ends in 28...if he's not on top for at least one of those, he'll see himself out.

Yep I think that’s exactly what he’s going to do. It’s going to be tough with Pedro on the same bike too.
 
Last year's sprint was a Ducati lock out: MM, AM, and Fermin. The KTMs and Aprilias sprinkled in to round out the top 10.

Last year's sprint was another Ducati lock out: MM, AM, and Pecco. The rest of the top 10 was again KTMs, Aprilias, and Mir sneaking in the Honda for a 7th.

Mav is sitting out this round to continue his recovery, but I think that's just a euphamism for him being benched by Tech3.

MM's shoulder is a question mark, but he really likes this track. I expect the Aprilias to come on strong here even though this has historically been a Ducati track. I think Pedro will be in the top 5 based on last year's performance. And Digi should continue to be the dark horse. The real question is how the factory Aprilias will stack up against the Trackhouse boys.

Glad the racing is back.

Yes, the stone wall one with a bit of reverse corkscrew up top and really long back straight before the final corner.

@Quicktoy that reminds me, is that track map accurate with turns 16/17? Doesn't MotoGP run the rounded version?

Busted! Im pretty sure you are right. It is the rounded last turn after that ridiculously long back straight where the Yamahas would get walked on every lap.

Will be interesting to see the steps the APEs have taken, I was watching some highlight from last year, where looks like Martin was passing Mark or Pecco in the corkscrew off the track only to be passed back on the straight. Will def be different this year. Im sure MM93 will still be crowned but the rest are prob up in the air.
 
I'm not totally convinced Marc is at full fitness and/or able to dominate like he had previously. I think Alex/Diggia might be the top Ducati this round fighting it out with the Aprilias. All speculation anyway. Did the first session start yet?!?!? :p

They run the rounded. My apologies. Was walking the dog when I grabbed the picture and couldn’t have any coffee this morning as I was having a molar pulled at 8am.
