How embarrassing it must be for FIM brass to see the 2 leaders pull over to let people by them because of a ridiculous rule. Can you imagine this happening in ANY other professional racing series?! This BS keeps happening and its so annoying... the laughing stock of the motorsports world right now.
What does a racer getting a penalty for low tire pressure(a known rule), cause you to refuse to buy that brand of tire? Do you think that once Pirelli takes over, there will be no tire pressure minimum rule?
Should just be a minimum pressure at a certain temp on the warmers. What happens on the track happens. So dumb.
If that were the case you know teams would just build a bleeder valve into the wheel and drop it at T1 lap 1 lol.
Setting you tire psi is no different than choosing your tire compound. Or adusting your reb/comp or spring rate on your suspension.
Yeah just leave it alone altogether. Every rider / team can set the pressures at their discretion and reap the rewards / suffer the consequences. Why have a rule about it???
Apparently Peccos parents picked up Marc after his Q2 crash and they showed Peccos reaction when he saw his parents bringing Marc back. lol.
All of this moaning about tire pressure when it was an improper setting on the FIM monitoring system. It was great to see the Beast podium Martin even looked competitive for a while KTM and Aprilia showing pace, just not MMs pace
That's even worse. You have riders dropping anchor, panicking to let riders by to heat their front tires over a poorly operating monitor system??? Just fucking dump the stupid rule and tell Michelin to deal with it if someone runs them so low they deconstruct. Go ask Pecco how happy he was to drop way off the podium over a malfunctioning light.
What's lost in all this is that it may have been the most humiliating thing to happen to the field since the few minutes before he dissembled his arm at Jerez in 2020. And there have been a few this year . But this time, nobody can say his that brother kept first place warm for him until he wanted it back. And he was further out in front when he told Acosta to hold it for him for a minute.
It does make me wonder... If there was some sort of crazy bonus for each second Marc finishes ahead of 2nd place, and no tire pressure penalties, how far in front would he be in sprints and races? Years ago we'd see racers like Lorenzo finish 10+ seconds ahead of the entire field. I bet Marc could pull that off if there was some incentive (instead of disincentives that exist now).
I think the last time we saw that brutal of a mindfuck was when Doohan was playing with Criville. I think Mick still has the title but this is getting close.
