Michael Jordan Race Team "Rider"

Haven't you seen the Korean looky likey SV650 in either FastBikes or Performance Bikes mag recently? Oh, its got potential too.

If the Koreans want my big arse running up front, they are going to need more than potential....Turbos would be more like it....:D

There's no race card being played here. Casmay's white and Pascal Picotte ran the bike in Superbike at Road America. IF...if they get another rider, there's no speculating on what race they might be, or even if it will from this planet. ;) :D

Right, and that's where Bubba comes in; he's not human:p

So, if I can get 'Bill Gates" on a bike and to the track? Maybe I can be friend him and race to the next 100 years. :D

I didnt race against him, but I saw him race at Blackhawk Farms in ILL at a CCS race August (at the wegman auction) of last year. He was pretty fast, he had the 1 plate and was beating the crap out of everyone except Kevin Hanson (Safety First) and a couple others.
Its my impression that is where Micheal Jordan met him ( at Blackhawk) when Jordan rented the track with 80 friends. Tez was one of the locals and helped as a control rider, and then Jordan saw him race in the CCS race the next day and thought he was cool.
Thats just what I heard I could be wrong.

I think it is way cool that MJ and the related sponsors gave Montez a ride....if it wasn't for Montez those companys wouldn't be at the track...

...am I a little jealous...hell yea, what struggling racer wouldn't be....If any of "us" got the same chance we would do the same thing.

I wouldn't go so far as saying that he doesn't deserve it...I think and hope that it will lead to other outside support coming to roadracing....

I hope he heals well and continues on...

Too Fast For ME!!

GREAT POST!! I was just wondoring if the guy could ride or not, because if he could'nt, then I was next in line.

Kind of agree with sunzzy here. Everyone is always bitching that we don't get enought tv coverage, etc, etc... Instead of bitching about this guys good fortune we should be happy for what it is doing for the sport. Quantitatively I cannot give you that answer but I can tell you the guy that sits next to me at the office watched the race yesterday just to see Montez ride (at first, I think he is kinda hooked now). I know that is one case but it is one more viewer on the TV and MJ being at the races will draw some sort of coverage from the local stations and possibly the ESPN's/ Fox Sports' of the industry. Any coverage is good coverage. I think if you look at all of the guys +/- 5 positions of Montez he gets 10x more coverage than them. That must add up to some value for Jordan. Just my thoughts, flame away.

LOL...if this is real I guess WERA BBS is a serious racing site!:D

Is it true that MJ wanted to race Ducati's and a compromise was reached on the Yammy?

Love those leathers and the whole jumpman crew is great at the races...they talk to anyone like they knew them their entire life!

I still want Tez to come down and do a Day at Jennings GP...It would draw a good crowd and be a fun day....If MJ comes down maybe Borg would let him ride that Duc of his!

Tez...hang in there and good thngs will happen....maybe FX next year on a 749????

MJ you gonna be at Road A or VIR races?

Is this happening again? As soon as somebody well known is discussed on the BBS, they show up! Damn!
To show how well versed I am in other sports (I'm from Boston, a pretty frustrating town for sports fans, recent Patsies' championships nonwithstanding!), is 23 his number? (I have no idea)
Now sit back and enjoy pages upon pages of "Is that really him?"

Bleeping gag me w/ the baby blue.

Let me start out by saying I'm a bit bitter. Montez took me out in turn 1 on the opening lap of the Supersport race at Mid Ohio this past weekend after he lost the front end "on some dust or something" as he put it in an interview during a red flag. Funny how the 30 guys before us didn't hit any dust.

We can all probably name 10 privateers who would have better deserved and represented that set up he has been given. Is his presence really good for the sport of PROFFESSIONAL road racing in the United States? I see the old if it brings a bunch of people and money to the race track it must be good for the sport card has already been played.

It's impossible for me to be objective after what has happened to me this past weekend. I take a week off work, ride Tue. & Wed. in the WERA races to get ready for the one AMA pro race I get to run each year. Ride my roadbike all the way back to Michigan Wed. night so I can drive my wife and 10 month old back down to Mid Ohio Thu. night for Fri. practice, Sat. qualifying, and Sun. race to have it all literally yanked out from under me in turn 1 on lap 1.

O.k. I'm done sobbing. It could have been anyone who could have taken me out. Montez has a lot to learn just like anyone would going to all those new tracks in one season. I wish him luck and I apologize for flipping him off after I went under him (I got back in the race after the red flag) going into thunder alley. Hee hee.

Excellent! I live 30 miles south of Boston and work about 20 miles to the north. Monday, during the summer, Route 3 is usually jammed because of the usual traffic plus residual Cape traffic (tourists going home). I guess what happened is that a lot of people and businesses didn't want to deal with the whole mess, so they stayed home and me and a few others had clear sailing. I think the radio said that traffic was 30% of the normal numbers.
I hope they clear out quickly when it's over because I have to go to Loudon for the FIM/USCRA/NAMU event on Friday, and I'll be driving right by the Fleet Center on the way.
What's really fun is coming home from Loudon Sunday evening. As soon as I clear Boston and I'm flying down Route 3 at about 90 MPH, I look over at the northbound lanes and I see the bumper-to-bumper Cape traffic! :D

If you are MJ: Cool (you owe me $200 for those Wizard tickets I bought).

If not: Oh well.

Props to Tez. And a giant up your's to the haters.
