Anyone every race against Micheal Jordan rider "Montez Stewart"? I know this is the WERA board, but many WERA racers have raced both WERA and CCS prior to coming to the faster race organization. I show this guy this past weekend and never had heard of him until seeing him on speed vision Sunday. Glover #85 Slowest HWT Racer Ever www.medievalracing.com P.S. I'm thinking "BUCK" can hold him down and I could race in his spot.
I was under the impression that he was from out Cali way and raced with AFM. You might get better responses if you posted your quandry on one of their boards or their www.micapeak.com mailing list.
He's from Chicago area, raced CCS, and is friends with MJ.Brought MJ to Blackhawk Farms in Beloit to do track days, that's how it started.
He's a CCS MW or Great Lakes rider - basically Blackhawk Farms and the Chicago area. Nice guy, not sure how fast he is/was at the races he attended. Also pretty sure that has little to do with his friend giving him some help. He just has friends that can help more than most racers (who tend to be the help you load and fix the crash damage friends)
I didnt race against him, but I saw him race at Blackhawk Farms in ILL at a CCS race August (at the wegman auction) of last year. He was pretty fast, he had the 1 plate and was beating the crap out of everyone except Kevin Hanson (Safety First) and a couple others. Its my impression that is where Micheal Jordan met him ( at Blackhawk) when Jordan rented the track with 80 friends. Tez was one of the locals and helped as a control rider, and then Jordan saw him race in the CCS race the next day and thought he was cool. Thats just what I heard I could be wrong.
GSXR pilot you are getting people mixed up; last year Kevin Gordon had the #1 plate for Blackhawk region. Tez is pretty tall (over6'3")Kevin is rather short(Around 5'8). Tez had always been a rather fast club racer and has gottne the chance through a good meeting to try his hand at AMA racing with top level support for a privateer.
For more (or the staight line) about Tez, check out the article in the July/August 04 (vol. 2, #4) issue of Road Racer X. The one with Jake Zemke on the cover. H-man
I think you meant to say "faster" because unless you can go faster than he does, then he is going pretty "fast"
its not my fault that someone always needs correcting. Someone is certainly very friendly and professional...
he can qualify toolbox.... what about you? jealousy can be a bitch sometimes (like you) just because he doesn't win does not mean that michael jordan does not see advertising value. look at winston cup. for our sport to grow, it takes exactly this sort of thing. kudos to MJ, and here's to other fine folks sponsoring not only the front runners (factory pilots) but the little guy as well.
So it is his fault he knows how to market himself and found someone to pay for his racing? He qualifies, how about you?
From what everyone that know him has said, he's a great guy. Qualify? 16 year old Jessie Janish has quailified for every Superbike race he has entered.Let's talk talent.Yes it's great for the sport, that MJ is attending the races.Jealousy, you bet it there, guys have been selling the farm to get a shot like that.I fucking hate when this thread pops up! I try, just can't stay away! Flame on! Maybe a few finishes in the top 20 might change my mind! I'll wait for MJ to sign Bubba, there's talent!
And motogp for that matter, Nicky aint the best rider that Honder can get but think about all that publicity.
Life isn't fair, get over it. Stop wasting time stressing over someone else's good fortune, and keep plugging away untill your time comes.
we have a black guy sponsored by MJ/Nike in AMA superbike. Think about the publicity our sport (Roadracing) will get from this buzz. It is show biz more than a sport remember, so anyone who can qualify deserve that kind of ride/job if the situation is right for the team/sponsors. It is NOT about who is the fastest... why do people forget that? Its called "sponsors" for a reason... thats sponsorship, not prize money, or contigency. Remember Katja (sp) being as slow as she was but keeping getting rides, she provides more publicity than most male riders does, beat that and you will have her job. Just qualify, and then able to sell alot of products/good name/exposure for your sponsors, I Am sure you will get paid more than the winner.
