If you're super recoil sensitive, rather than a 6.5prc, just hand load 6.5 cm with RL26 and get almost the same velocity.

Unfortunately, I do not reload. So, I am stuck with factory offerings. I am hearing of guides and outfitters, no longer allowing 6.5 creedmoor's in hunting camps. It is not the caliber, it is the shot placement, in my opinion. Ski

The 6.5ptc, in factory ammo, is IMHO, a bit underwhelming. Even the 7 prc factory ammo isn't really impressive, but definitely a step up.
The 6.5 prc is only about 200fps faster than a cm, with almost 50% more powder.
Maybe a 6.8 western for your needs? I'm not a 277 cal fan, but its at least Bette than 10 twist 270/wsm ammo.

Given your specific recoil needs, you really should consider reloading, even if it is only in the one caliber. That being said and what your stated potential use will be, you might want to consider a larger slower bullet, i.e, 35 caliber. The 358 Winchester and the 35 Whelan both come to mind if loaded with a 225 gr bullet. Recoil should be manageable and perhaps more of a push rather than a smack. My personal favorite is the 350 Remington Magnum. I have reliably hunted out to 400 yds but I think the limitation has been more me and the platform rather than the cartridge. I like the Sierra 225 gr Gameking at 2625. That is kind of a medium load but has ballistics I like. Zeroed at 200 it is 2 high at 100 and 10 low at 300. I have used that load on deer, caribou and moose.

Thank you for the suggestion @kenessex , I know it isnt the same thing but, I have a 350 legend bolt gun, and an ar platform for the grand kid, and love how they shoot out to 200 yards however, I probably wouldnt shoot a deer sized animal over 150. It loses too much energy. Also, not too impressed with the blood trails on the 350L with Winchester xp150 gr deer season. They are accurate, dont get me wrong but, I have witnessed a few deer hit very well that didnt bleed much at all. Two of those had great hits, and the deer went over 100 yards. Without snow we probably would have either given up, or not found the deer at all. Almost like a pencil hole, no energy left in the animal. Ski

Yup, not even close to a good 35 cal bottle neck cartridge.
