How to run an O2 sensor on my track bike briefly to get A/F data....

I would like to be running the Bazzaz self mapper on my track bike to better tune the fuel map.

I'll have the self mapper soon.

Problem is on my K6 GSXR1000 track bike there is no OEM Bung; AND, I got this bike like this that runs the OEM titanium header strait to a shorty muffler/straight thru glass pack. There is no good or quick way to install the O2 sensor to get the data I need so that the software will change the map.

So far, I think I can simply put a metal tube on the sensor like the Dyno shops runs their A/F sensors on and drop it into the muffler.
I'd plan to safety wire it (no for the track), but to run it somewhere to get the data and then remove it.
It's not an 'on the fly' controller. It suggests changes and will create a map with them, etc.

Help me out here, what options do I have for this short term acquisition of the data I need?
 
You are not going to get much exhaust into that tube, those on the Dyno's use a vacuum pump to pull the exhaust across the wideband sensor. Any data you get will be extremely suspect.

I did not know that- the vacuum pump I mean. When the motor is on, I would surmise that 99.9% of what's in the pip[e is exhaust gases.
 
at WOT and part throttle theres no air reversion into that exhaust. just dont try to tune idle and low rpm low throttle with it.
 
Here is your solution. Put front wheel against the garage wall. Put rear wheel in this

next put the auto tune in the canister of your shop vac and stuff the hose into your exhaust.

Start the bike hold throttle wide open and bang it through the gears.

You should have a pretty solid tune after 2 or 3 passes.

Have your GoPro running so others can learn the process

Thanks- This is what I think also. This is probably what I'm going with, and I'm sticking to it .... LOL

Oh, btw, when this bike was last rebuilt and then dyno tuned by Joe and his team @ TurnOneRacing- it was dynotuned. I have a copy of the dyno- 179 RWHP.
It's since been corrupted, and I've seemed to have lost that map from that back in 2017.

While not exactly being a dyno tune, I can 'dial it in' a bit more with this.

I've since downloaded some 'maps' from others on the websites database that have worked OK.

I'd like to 'dial it in' a bit more.

I don't race the bike. It's very fast as is. It's got allo the goodies a K6 Gixxer 1000 could have on it, thanks to someone named Sebastian who built it into a track bike years ago.
 
If you already have an AIM data logger like a Solo 2 DL, you can get the LCU-One S expansion for it, you'll need a bung drilled and welded into your exhaust for it to work however.

I run one on my race bike and it was absolutely invaluable for dialing in the tune on my CBR600RR with HRC ECU, the out of the box tune is fairly rich.

Plus the sensor lets me monitor for potential engine issues.
