I asked an official at CVMA a bit ago and he said he will check into it for me.As far as I know, the NSF is not legal for any classes with CVMA, everything has to be production based. I have raced with CRA at Vegas but that is about it. I very much miss the WERA events and would still be racing with WERA (both of us would and probably our son, now, too - he has an R3) if there were events here. I went to the new Buttonwillow track with CSS (on the school BMW, not the small bike), it was fun but it is a haul for me (I'm near Temecula) and it always seems to be crazy hot, maybe will try a trackday there this winter. I've thought about maybe AHRMA, if they ever run Willow Springs again, seems like a pleasant crowd and they have classes I can run. How about you? Racing anywhere?
@Hotfoot Cowboy from CVMA said your bike is legal in the Formula 2 class. That class also has TZ250s, etc in it, which rarely show up, but that is the class Tyler ran his 125 and Moriwaki in.
Awesome. Hope your son and husband come out as well. Currently planning to on a Ninja 400 I bought last year. Was working towards an Aprilla RS660 but not sure about that yet.Noted! Thank you, that's good info. I did look at the rulebook but it says "no MotoGP bikes of any kind" and I thought the NSF would fall into that category as a Moto3 bike. And the specific callout allowing the 2 cyl/2stroke "U.S. sold" GP bikes reinforced that impression since they were specifically listed as OK to run and a bike like mine (non U.S. sold) was not specifically listed as OK. Anyway thanks for checking, I really did think it was not eligible.
So I guess that means I could also run Formula 40 lightweight, since that says any motorcycle following Formula 2 rules. Two classes is enough to make me interested in showing up. How about you, what are you going to ride to come race with me, have you decided yet?![]()
Hey, I'm just reading the rulebook as written. I'll bet there are some countries out there where the NSF is street legal, like the Harley V1000 in Poland. If you need any help editing the rulebook language so it means what you want it to mean, let me know.![]()
It is a production racer.Where is it a production bike?
