The way Fox works, look forward to racing by hot females wearing nothing but bikinis. NTTAWWT. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a65564174/fox-one-third-stake-in-indycar/
That’s what I thought. Sounds like a smart move for Fox and Penske. At least now we all know where to go to watch Indy car races, which I almost never do anymore. I used to love watching it when I was a kid. Less ovals more road courses, would increase my interest and possibly drag me back.
I'd like it, if they got rid of the fugly cars, and went back to something more like the early/mid 90's CART cars. Anything but the current cars. (Or crapwagons...lol)
I didn’t know that. I haven’t watched in several years. I tired to watch once in the last year and the ugliness hurt, plus it was under caution so I did something else. But I could see getting into it again. I used to goto the Long Beach Grand Prix and watched on TV all the time. When the split happened I even watched both series for a bit and then lost interest as I got busy with the kids.
Well if you want to go, fly your Azz out here from Texas, crash at my house, and we can drive on over there. It's about 45-60 minutes away from where I live. Or if you don't feel comfortable with that, we can just meet up at the track.
If someone managed to have drones auto follow WRC cars for the whole race weekend that would be the only 4 wheeled motorsport to watch. Its so good watching the world level guys blasting around on gravel roads at 130+ mph feet/inches from a forest, boulders, cliffs or people. And flying thru the air on the jumps. The action is so good, but the coverage is spotty due tot eh nature of public road racing over hundreds of miles.
This might be a brilliant move by Fox. Buy cheap, put every race on Fox while they bury NASCAR on FS1 and receive enough carryover American popularity from F1/DTS. They need to make sure the series keeps a majority of the races as road/street courses to make it look as similar to F1 as they can though. You can bet there will be more publicized drama than ever before too. That poster is just the start.
Years ago, when Indy Car was at its height, and racing in foreign countries too, Ecelstone was concerned they were going to take over and really hurt F1.
You can thank Tony George for some of that. It did let a lot of guys race at the Indy 500 that probably couldn't make it with CART, my neighbor raced in the 500 7 times.
I might have to accept that generous offer. Thank you... I've never been to that race. It's early in the season.
Figure out if you want to do it, and I will start making plans on my end, so wifey doesn't schedule something else. You can invite your brother/wife too, if you think either of them might want to do it. Might be fun to hit cars and coffee in San Clemente on that Saturday morning. It is supposedly the worlds biggest weekly car show and it is 100% free. https://www.southoccarsandcoffee.com/ But I understand if you want to be at the Long Beach GP all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I will have to figure out if I need any concrete structures built while you are out here. A nice outdoor pizza oven would be cool.
