Expiration/Sell by dates on food - do you pitch it no matter what?

Factory breads are incredibly bad for the human body.
Meaning anything on the bread shelf at the supermarket. Get their bakery bread, or even better go to an actual bakery.
Different flour, different recipes, entirely different baking methodology.
Night and day difference in taste and how you feel after eating.
Or just look up a bread recipe. Its extremely easy to make at home.

You can greatly improve the quality of the
food you eat just by going back to cooking
meals like your mother (or maybe grandmother)
used to do.
There are tons of chemicals in your food to
increase shelf life and looks, most of which
have not been tested for safety in any significant
way.
And cooking can be very relaxing and mentally
rewarding. You fix a nice meal or maybe bake
something tasty and everyone appreciates it.

People are too busy to enjoy the day these days.
And they feel crappy because of their crappy
diets. Way too much sugar, way too much processing,
and way too many additives. And all of that makes
food more expensive, also.

I am not going to cook like my mother or grandmother. Frying
Meat until it is dry leather or boiling vegetables until they are mushy and the same color as the cooking water is not fore. My mom only made two things that were good, molasses cookies and Mac and cheese from scratch
She learned how to cook from her mom
I learned to cook in self defense
The rest of this post is 100 percent on point. I can cook way better food from scratch than buying processed crap. Just keep the basics around and eat healthy

100%

Not to get too "granola" but my wife makes at least one and usually two fresh sourdough loaves per week. I'm spoiled now. Fresh bread with clean ingredients is a game changer.
