I’m generally easy going. Around 7am I walk into the Home Depot restroom up in Commerce,CA.

Another guy walked into the restroom before me who I don’t even see. He is on his speaker phone as we are both going #2 and I’m in the stall next to him. After he says a few sentences, I said would you mind taking it off speaker phone? I didn’t say it with attitude, but I also didn’t add please and maybe I should have, but I doubt it would change anything.

He says kind your own f..king business. I thought of smart ass things to say but instead said, “would you take it off speaker it’s rude and I don’t want to hear it”. He then says hey I’m on with AAA and need to handle this leave me alone.

AAA ask a million questions and he said he has his other car with him, this happened last night, and this car blew an engine? He finished before me and waits for me to come out for a minute or so.

I get out and go wash my hands. He is a few sinks over, but I’m not sure it is him as there are other people in the bathroom. As he walks out he says something smart ass which I can’t make out, but directed at me and I recognize his foreign voice. He sounds Russian/ukrainian or somewhere over there and has his slicked back hair.

So this is where I probably should say nothing…..but I don’t. I said what was that? He says, you heard me. And turns around and starts walking towards me, standing tall with his chest out. I’m thinking it could go down, but I ain’t backing down. He is taller than I am and definitely younger but still could be 45-50. I said no I didn’t hear you and he starts popping off/mumbling.

At some point as he is being an a hole and I probably am too, I said well you want to go outside? That seemed to calm him after the initial rage. We both were leaving the store and he mumbled something else towards me, so the true asshole I am, I said hey I’m glad your motor blew up, you deserved it.

At that point I thought, he may take a swing the second we get outside? So I pull out my car key and position the key blade section between my two middle fingers.

    Fortunately nothing happened.

    DAMN! Linders!

I used to walk around with a chip on my shoulder, but too many people nowadays want to just pull out a gun and end a life rather than throw a few from the shoulders , get up, shake hands, and walk away.

Were you planning on using your key because your purse was in the Boxster?

I agree you generally seem easy going, so your reaction seems out of character for you. Do you know why? Likely has nothing to do with jabberjaws in the next stall going #2 at 7:00 a.m. Poor planning on both your parts, BTW. Go to youtube and search for home bowl family guy, lol.

IMO, two red flags here. You asked him whether he wanted to go outside, presumably to get into a physical altercation over you being subjected to hearing a conversation that you were not a part of in a public place. Read that sentence again and register how ridiculous that sounds. Second red flag, you telling him that you were glad his engine blew up. That is spiteful, out of character for you.

Seems you’re stressed out, and it’s likely about something(s) else. You popped off, it happens. Figure out why.

I agree with Yzass, you sound like you were out of character, maybe stressed out from the upcoming motorcycle races with motion :D

All I can add is that if you find yourself in the wild Wild West of Florida, whether you’re right, wrong or indifferent and things looks like they’re going to escalate, you best be packing cause chances are everybody else is.

As if Russia-US relations weren’t strained enough, you had to get into a grunting and plopping conflict over some grainy 1-ply.

    What a missed opportunity!

You could have let him talk on the phone while you made loud fart noises.

You could have started moaning and groaning while he talked.

My favorite, you could have asked really loud if that was the car he intentionally drained the oil from to cause the motor to blow up.

Oh I live in North Port Florida which has a large Russian and Ukranian population. Makes no difference. They’re both piece of shit humans who walk around in public blabbing on their phones all day. I pray many are illegal and ICE rips them out of here. I’ve kicked them out of my pawn shop on more than one occasion for being like that. If you don’t have respect for the people around you, then you’re a piece of shit human being.

We all have our bad days. Someone on the phone like that is annoying but not worth any kind of altercation. Imagine if it escalated and explaining to family & friends, " I got in a fight while taking a dump". Sounds like you are wound up a little tight which seems out of character for you. Classic signal it is time to get out of California.

The transplants generally have no idea here in N FL... but Im not really out looking for an OK Corral throwdown.
But in that regard... if someone is running their yapper... the chances of an encounter with a well trained shooter is low. They could be the expressive ghetto types and then you can wet your pants when they brandish & put them down like ol yeller
