I took these Monday. First pic is the marina. Get Hooked parking lot is just to the right.
Second is what every street on the canals looks like. Piles of wet furniture, drywall and cabinets by the curb of every house that wasn't elevated off the ground. Can't imagine how bad places like Cedar Key got hit.

I've got a house off Clark Street in Hudson. It's elevated so the conditioned space is fine. The lot sits a little higher than most and during Idalia the storm surge was 6" away from coming in the first floor. This storm we had 30" inside the first floor and 38" mark on the outside. Some lower lying homes closer to the Gulf had 6'-0" water lines on them. Every house had water damage inside. It truly looks like war zone over there.

We looked at a house on Clark years ago before we bought our house. Third house in on the left, gray place with a pool. That one is elevated and the first level is just garage.

Spent a few days helping out in Swannanoa last week. Volunteers are starting to dry up. There's also a great need for kerosene heaters, sealed cans of kerosene, propane tank adapters for 20lb > 1lb tanks, generators / space heaters. This place is legit and has a pretty good operation set up. You can designate funds or purchase something off of their Amazon wish list. https://restorationchurchnc.org/disaster-relief

These guys are also doing a lot. https://aerialrecovery.org/ & https://grindstoneministries.com/

Show up for a day or show up for 10, they need the help.
