What fun would that be? I haven't decided wether to try it again. There's no guarantee the second won't do the same thing. It was pretty fast right up until it popped.
I was right behind you when your motor let go. Thought I had it all on the camera but the batteries were dead when I got back to the pits. I was on the white gsxr 1000. Sorry to see your motor go like that. Really glad no oil came out could have been bad for us.
Luckily the hole in the block was at the front and pretty high up. I's say less than a shot glass of oil made it into the pan. Could have been worse and I would have felt horrible if I had oiled the track down.
Kenny did a great job getting off the track, then getting the corner worker to throw the debri flag for that belt laying in the kink. I saw the huge smoke trail going down the front straight and prepared for the worst, but it was all good. Is be lying if i told you every muscle I have isnt sore. My eyes are still bloodshot. It's a hell of a trip!
So that is what was in the middle of the fastest turn in the track.....lol...it was not on the race line, at least for my speed but very consuming mentaly.
Tough luck on that motor, Kenny. The karts were awesome, hate we didn't get to stay and ride some more with ya Stick.
But it wasn't from me. The karts are always a good time. We finally got out there late Sunday to do some laps in them.
I just got my credit in the mail - it was really cool that CMP did that, since I got just 1 lap around. Now to figure out what the bike's problem is...
I'm lookin' forward to the next one! Freshened suspension, a fixed slipper clutch and another new rear tire... hopefully I can get sub 40's now that I've dusted off the cobwebs.
It was a good time, perfect weather. Hope to make next months. Seems that there's always a good group there. Which is cool given the diverse riding skills. The bmw should be banned, passed me into 11 like I was walking. I pinned it to try and catch and he was out of sight by 5-6-7. Thanks to stick and the crew for a well run show.
OK, this justin, the godfather of racing will be at th eNovember trackday. Come out an dmeet James Brown himself and let him show you around the track. I think we may even have a Mark steadly sighting on Sunday. I'll be there Saturday to help out and do tires, but I have to leave that night. Come out and meet JB and MS and give them a hard time. I know I will.
Dec 6/7......I may show up with a real trick "top secret" supebike project that is supposed to be done by then.
Kewl. Those are last years dates. We'll be out there Dec. 4/5. Bring it out. Anything top secret of yours should be good. We'll have car groups those days also.
I am planning on being there on 11/14. Maybe the 13th if I can sweet talk the wifey! Oh, it looks like Studley is coming. He just picked up a F3... So watch out! I just hope it makes it through tech. Wait a minute, he is helping tech, maybe I should just hope I make it through tech.
