I just had a local guy call me for work on his 1974 CB750 - He is the ORIGINAL OWNER, it has always been stored inside, hasn't moved for 12 years, and he has no idea what it needs. He and his brother each bought one brand new back in the day and immediately rode from NJ to CA. Seemed like a nice guy and I agreed to check it out for him. I hope I don't regret this.......
They always say "It's my baby, the cost doesn't matter", but that usually evaporates once you drop the numbers on them. It's a rarity to see them agree to go full bore and into the abyss, but quite satisfying to see in the end, as you were able to experience.
Yup, that's why I estimated him high and Paul got 100% down. We were able to keep to the estimate and he was happy.
