IIRC This was a few years ago.. Didn't Danny Buchan leave the track on a Thursday/Friday and come back with his plumber van to repair some of the facilities at one of the venues?
Which is why I would think them leaving is a big loss. New blood is usually a good thing to keep around.
BSB has pretty tight racing but in absolute terms, I don't think the talent level is as high as it was in the 2000s. Ray spent a year trying to stay on the same lap as some beasts of the world stage. That will make a racer faster. Ask SDK.
Something something the worst -insert pro sport- athlete is still better than you could ever imagine.
I asked ChatGPT what the beeb thinks. Some references are a bit older… >>>> I wasn’t able to log into forums.13x.com itself, but I could access a public discussion thread titled “BSB vs AMA Superbike”, located in the ‘General’ forum. From that thread, here’s what I could uncover: Top 5 Reasons From forums.13x.com: Why BSB (British Superbike) Is Viewed as Better Than AMA/MotoAmerica Superbike Based on posts from users in that “BSB vs AMA Superbike” thread: Tighter, action-packed tracks ryoung57 highlights that many BSB circuits are very short—“sub-minute lap times”—with 25–30 bikes on track, making the action continuous and intense. More competitive racing due to balanced rule sets prospected remarks how BSB apparently applies rules that better equalize manufacturers, leading to closer, more exciting racing among many brands. Greater presence of manufacturer support and sponsorship dylanes21 notes that BSB appears “very well ran” and attracts plenty of American sponsors and top riders. In contrast, AMA Superbike is described as having minimal factory teams or sponsorship beyond Monster. Excitement and spectacle in the racing events and broadcasts dylanes21 also observes BSB being broadcast on the Velocity Channel (in the U.S.), implying higher visibility and presentation quality compared to AMA. Superior bike components and tuning—‘eye candy’ for enthusiasts Sheik Abdul ben Falafel quips: “Have you seen a AMA SB next to BSB? That alone makes me watch BSB… I ain’t watching shit that does not have Öhlins FGR forks!” implying BSB’s top-tier parts and aesthetics make it more appealing.
I'll give you the short answer. More competitive bikes and riders in BSB. Half of the Superbike field in MotoA are never even going to sniff a podium, let alone a win.
Another long time team leadership is retiring. https://www.britishsuperbike.com/ne...eparture-from-racing-at-the-end-of-the-season
My memories of Mar Train Racing are not BSB but the Ulster, NW200, Oliver's Mount etc. Mega team on the roads!
