That GMT II looks larger than 40mm.

I'm mixed on my Panerai (00112) right now. I love it one day and want to sell it the next. The 88 would fill most of my needs up until I get a gold Patek. :)

Here's what my 44mm Pam 297 looks like compared to the GMT 2

the 297 is a GMT with a black second face and doesn't it come with a metal bracelet? Display back or solid metal?

    That looks freakin' awesome.

As much as I geeked over the new Speedmaster, I remembered one of the reasons I don't wear my current Speedmaster that much is because it looks small on my first-world-fat-guy wrist.

That, and since it's the moon watch it's got the Hesalite crystal, which is delicate as shit and super easy to scratch... so for that reason I generally only wear it in my spaceship.

Still, pretty cool that it's flight qualified for spaceflight by NASA.

I generally go between my two Seamasters.... much better proportioned to my fat wrist.

Would love to get a Rolex someday.

It came with a bracelet, but I think every Pam should be worn with a strap. I like UTC watches since I travel quite a bit, however I see a 351 in my near future during this short trip to the states - it may replace the 297. Wish I had the wrist size to wear a fiddy.

They are worth the money, if you have the money to spend. :)

I bought an Omega GMT because I couldn't get the old style GMT and I like the Omega and think it's better put together than the GMT. Still, I sometimes wish I had gotten the GMT II or even an Explorer II.

Was the crystal version of the speedmaster not available? I think they also (now) have one with a display caseback. Not a "true" moonwatch but a little more functional for those of us without spaceships. I'm stuck deciding between the "true" spacewatch and the everyday crystal version... though I'll likely never pull the trigger.

The quartz crystal version was available.... but this particular watch was available at the time (my local dealer where I had bought both my America's Cup Seamaster and my Planet Ocean Seamaster)... they were dropping the Omega line for whatever reason, and they gave me a killer deal on the moon watch.

    I couldn't resist.

Yeah, you're right. Got an insane offer for my base for a trade in on a Big Pilot 5009. Thought hard about it but the Big Pilot really is BIG.

my colleague bought a Rolex Explorer II in February without his wife knowing. he paid $7500 for it and his wife saw it last night. Needless to say he's selling it and i've wanted a nice watch for a while. What's a fair price? He said he's thinking $5700 - $6000?

    Black dial or white dial??

White dial 4700.00 all day long used in Florida, black dial 4900-5300 depending on how new

He's asking top of the mark. $5700 for the 216570 is what I've heard being offered. They then sell in the $7000 range with the box and papers pre owned.

$6K ain't bad but get it authenticated. Friendship is one thing but $6K is another.

Wore my IWC spitfire chrono on a custom strap this week. A really good dress watch, but won't get worn enough if I leave it to just that.

I was going to ask who had IWCs and their thoughts on them. I've been looking at the Portofinos and Portuguese because the Big Pilot is just too damn big.

When did you get a silver face spitfire chrono? What size is that? That is pretty sharp! Can you post a photo of the back of the watch and the strap deployment? I'm digging that watch.
