It's not that ghey - well, maybe a wee bit ghey. I've got a Cartier tank watch - the class - which just might rank as the little nephew below a Tag Monaco. I always think that the Cartier would go well when dressing up which never happens anymore, but I like the option of knowing it's there. The Rolex Submariner is the absolute tits. Mine was bought in 1984 and has been worn a lot over the years. It's only been serviced twice, looks fairly new and will be passed down to one of my sons (let them fight over it). It's the only watch that a jeweler will guarantee the price on trade in that I know.
Yeah, a tank is pure win and a classic but I can't tell that to him. Can't harsh him if he knows that. Love my sub but I should have looked around harder for a pepsi bezel or even the black bezel GMT. The GMT is the absolute tits. Sub is a very very close second to me.
Nah man, that's out of the league when I was into the whole collecting and flipping shit. I'm really not a collector anymore, I buy watches that call to me and serve a purpose with the intention of actually wearing and using them. I was into that stupid buying in order just to have them, Like Gollum and his ring. Buy them, sit on them and sell them for more than I paid and buy another and another and another and sell them to make more money. . . That was f@ckin' stupid.
DaveK, My father bought me a Tag Heuer 2000 for Kollege Graduation in 1991. (actually gave me a Movado that I exchanged for the Tag 2000) I wasn't a watch guy then, but wore it every day.... board shorts and flip flops, watch looked great. suit and tie, watch looked great. button down and jeans, watch looked great. I still wear it at work the majority of time. Sent it to http://internationalwatchworks.com/ to have the hands and dial reluminzed and the entire watch bead blasted. It looks brand new.
Scotty, found a Movado 800 series that I got for him. Not what I wanted to get but the kid has done volunteer work in some "meh" places. I won't be upset if he loses it. Got myself a T-touch while I was shopping.
At first glance I like the case but the face is too flashy for my taste. Then I saw the stealth version. Me like.
My Tissot t-touch expert got here today and it's okay enough. A few complaints but nothing too bad. It ain't small.
I really like the blue/ black GMT. I was grooving on the new "pan am" GMT until I saw the pricing on it.
That is nice. WERA colors Never been a fan of the pepsi red/blue especially with any gold on it but that one is sharp.
It is a beautiful watch and the two tone ceramic bezel changes colors depending on the lighting. These photos are what led me to seriously consider buying one.
Oh hell yeah. No arguing that one. On to first world fat guy problems - not sure 40mm is large enough
Panerai offers solutions to that problem. This is the Pam 351, amazing watch. Ti construction, sandwich dial, gold hands.. 44mm and thick.
Oddly enough being Ti is a minus not a plus. That is a nice watch but I like the looks of the GMT better.
