When using Carfax, it will note that there was damage to a vehicle. However, it’s just listed as minor, moderate, etc. Is there a way to get actual specifics of the damage suffered by the vehicle?

    Screenshot from Carfax for reference.

    Car dealer here

not usually, there may be some specifics in the details of the report that expound on the incident. if you wanted to share the vin, i could look a little more closely at it, but i wouldnt worry much about minor on the carfax

I called a Porsche dealer about a Porsche that had "minor" on the carfax. He said a car backed into the Porsche in a parking lot. I asked more questions and got a photo emailed to me of the damage. It was about $20K worth of work to fix it. Definitely not minor. I would be really careful with this.

Isn’t a Schmorsche license plate bracket about $20k?

That is the price of an oil change.

License plate brackets are north of $25K.

theres literally thousands of reasons for lots of things causing variations in what a dealership tells you depending on car, dealership, repair shop, service writer, tech, if insurance is involved, the relationship between the adjuster and the estimator, the list goes on and on and on. they could have rang up a scuff on a bumper to be a $20k repair bc the dealership's repair shop banks on that kind of stuff. ive seen bent frames from damage on a car with a clean carfax 1-owner that should have been a rebuilt title, but you never know about a car's history unless you get a third party to PPI it. highly recommended for any car from any dealership, ours included.

Shoulda got a Faguar. If they need lube at all, there’s plenty on the market since the Diddster stopped buying baby oil by the tanker. :D

Eff that. I'm still driving my 2003 F150 with bumper bars out front and a trailer hitch in the back.

    Wanna hit me?

    Tear ass.

Well my van has 2 minor "hits" on it through carfraud. One was a legit accident damage (pass sliding door skin wrinkled in low speed swipe) mom did. 2nd was a fucking asshat body shop manager put one in when I asked about how much a new front bumper cover was. He looked up the vin to "get the correct color". Had a small peice of sheet metal get kicked up and put a small gouge near the driving light. Found out later that it got put in carfraud as a crash. Kind of funny how their monthly asking to buy the van letter price dropped $4000 right after that.
