I’m 5’6” and it’s a huge struggle finding used suits that fit me I can only got size 44 EU Dainese suits and there is literally no one selling them used. And nor are any 5’6” riders selling their used custom Bison suits
I've had surprisingly good luck with the fit of off-the-rack suits from RS Taichi and Spidi over the last decade or so.
I'm 5'6" and have a new, never used, but 25 year old set of leathers that were sold by Marietta Motorsports back in the day. You would fit, but it would need tailoring for proper fitness. If interested let me know. I'll see if I can find a pic. Kobe leathers, yellow and black.
Tons of options out there and some are VERY good. DJ mentioned Taichi and I’d argue that away from custom that might be your best option in fit and quality.
Being 6'3" and skinny is harder... some riders on the forum are 6'5" 285. Imagine that. Insert Justin Timberlake song here. Happy holidays bahh humbug.
6'4", 190lbs. Every suit tall enough for me could fit Dave K in the chest and waist area with me in it. I have always had to go custom.
Before custom I had good luck with Alpinestars suits. I was a lot skinnier than today and they were snug with a back protector. But one day in the hot desert riding and they were great. the boots were always too big so I wore sidi boots, they were slimmer.
Not anymore. I currently look like an over stuffed Buddha statue. Used to be I had trouble getting a suit that was small enough. 44s we’re easy to find but we’re big on me and away from Japanese suits I looked like David Byrne. If I could find Kushitani and got a deal I was golden but I took free or provided by sponsors and dealt.
You're having a hard time finding something that fits, because you're not looking in the right place, the kids section....
apologies for the thread jack, but for the tall slim guys I may have the suit for you- New IXS black and white size 106. I'd call it a 44 extra tall. I bought 2, the one I'm using I had altered to fit me at 6' and 180. Took 1.5-2 inches off the arms and legs.
I'm in the same boat as rider99, 5'6" 175lbs and nothing fits right. Why these gear companies only make suits that fit emaciated 14 year boys just baffles me. The more low end suits from Alpinestars (think the old Motegi model) have a somewhat relaxed fit, but if you're looking for the best protection, good luck. I have an Atem 1 suit from A-stars and I have to drop 10 pounds to get in to it. Don't even get me started about finding high end boots in wide widths...
I can empathize with this thread, being 6'4" 185lbs. I've only ever tried on one off-the-rack suit that didn't crush my nads, and it fit like a parachute.
