Here's my suggestion. In 27 or 28, there should be a shift. The new twins, can be C class bikes. They have the same power as the C bikes from the 80/90s. The current C, B and Next Gen bikes have B classes. The A stays the same. That lets all those SV guys stay competitive, and there's a lot of those bikes still out there.
*sad R6 noises* What about a bike poll? I know it sounds ridiculous and impossible but! if the majority of the attendees are on SV's then you could feasibly do an SV class. Mathematically, if there's only a few people and less than a few types of bikes, you could "create" competitive classes based on attendance. At least, in theory it sounds optimal
Yes…. You were too late signing up… Yes on gambling…. It’s an insurance deal with the track on how many in each group… Experts come on many different machines from 2026 V4’s to 1998 FZR’s so as long as you hold your line.. don’t ride like a dumbass and erratic lap times don’t play a factor IMO… It’s a trackday not a race..
Because you obviously were not clear when you firs stated the below….And if it was sold out you couldn’t… I got into an argument with a TD org because they said I couldn’t bump to advanced if it was sold out.
I thought it was pretty clear from the rest of my post that the TD org was requiring me to sign up for intermediate, and even if I was supposed to be in advanced after they evaluated me, I was stuck in intermediate if advanced was sold out. Sorry if that wasn't clear. But that was the entire premise behind my issue with relying on an expert license to such a strict extent. I am happy to register for intermediate and do a session in intermediate to demonstrate to a TD group I've never ridden with that I should be in advanced. That's not the issue. If I'm stuck in intermediate because advanced is sold out the day of the event, when I raised the situation when registering months before, I'm not going to waste my time and money hoping there is still a spot available in advanced. I have an expert license now, so it's not an issue for me anymore. That doesn't mean it's not an issue for others. Obviously I am not talking about everyone that merely thinks they should be in advanced.
You were "supposed" to be in advance? Are you saying you're too good to ride Intermediate since you have an expert race license? If you can't handle riding with others in the Intermediate group how to you manage to race as an "Expert"?
That's a good point. When I did some of my first trackdays at Harris Hill in Texas, there were no groups. It was green flag open track all day for everyone. Why do you think there are groups and passing rules at trackdays on the east coast? How could I be saying I was too good for intermediate because I had an expert race license when the issue was that I dint have an expert race license?
Geez... Riding in Intermediate group is an excellent time to work on your passing skills. And a great opportunity to stuff all the coaches. *Make Intermediate Group Great Again*
another man made climate shift could put 40% of the grid in anxiety overload. We already race in cold weather, and hot weather….
With all of these new twins coming out, why not just redefine lw twins "up to 780cc 2 cyl 4 valve per cylinder" Allow the SV650 to run sbk mods in lwtss, and for lwtsb the bikes that are over 700cc must maintain stock bore and stroke in lwtsb. Also, exclude the desmo Ducs because a 749R can pump out 120hp
