Rahal’s first year in the 200, they did 3 stops because they were close on the fuel. The Boulder guys with Stefano only did 2. So maybe there’s other bikes (Ducati?) that are close too? If MA changes the ECU for balancing it could put one or more brands over the edge.
For the D200 I'm curious what will be used for ballast in tanks larger than 15.5 liters and who / how this will be supplied and implemented.
I just looked at the D200 supplemental regulations which lays out the procedure for measuring fuel capacity. That's going to take a while...
JL85 With Saddlemen again doing the Hooligans and Baggers.... Racing the Baggers in MotoGP Weekends at US, GB, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Austria
Is it the drain your tank before tech… then at tech fill it up to full capacity then drain it and measure what it is? That’s how the DMG days were… OEM R6 had to have reducers… some used canned food… we used empty sealed plastic containers… no need to add weight
They just announced $50k to win the D200, $30k for second place and $20k for third. That ain’t chump change.
Wow...so the teams running Pirelli in past years (didnt they win it) are hosed. Or you can still run whatever and you just wont get points?
Herrin/Warhorse used Dunlops the past three 200s. Before his three wins, I believe Paasch/TOBC ran Pirelli for their back to back wins.
I was gonna say the same. The purse amounts are probably pretty close to what it'll cost to run the weekend.
It's a wash with a third place finish at best. You have to build a Daytona motor. Then you have to turn around and build a new motor after Daytona is done.
True, we will see if the 750 is a factor this D200. With the stupid leveling technical rules to keep 2, 3 and 4 cylinders competitive I dont know why they would. I miss the old 750 supersport days.
I find it ironic that when they quit running Superbikes for 'safety issues,' the D200 became a 600 cc superbike race. Then they began 'allowing' larger displacement triples, etc. Fast forward and every competitive bike this year bike will be at least 750 cc and most will be 890 cc or larger.
