I had one of the previous races on tv and my wife, who doesn't watch, heard an interview with Deegan and says, " I don't know who that kid is, but what an arrogant little jerk." The kid can ride but I am not a fan of how he carries himself. He needs some coaching on his personality and interview skills. On the flip side, the Lawrence brothers seem very likable and you want to see them do well.
Yes it looks like Jet has grown up a little and does not say the same stuff like "let the big dog eat" so maybe some coaching has helped the kid

After the pass where he put Beaumer down, (you could see douchebag push Julian's bike with his right foot), then doucheboy timed the next section wrong, being out of control... I was hoping he was going to go down, and be dropped waaaay back. He got lucky, rode it out, and continued. The TV crew nutswingers were all, WOW what a save... It wasnt a save, he just got lucky. I'm tired of the kid, Monster, and Yamaha for propping him up. Unfortunately, he is going to be here until an injury, poor results, or old age (30) kick him to the curb. Ski

Travis Pastrana showed Brian what a Real freestyle rider was at age 14,when they discovered him in Fla. on a film shoot. Travis was doing shit none of them would even attempt! That,and the shit eater Deegan family had a cheater bike at Loretta Lynns,got caught,and Yamaha threatened the kid that filed the protest.The kid got scared,backed down after Brian tried to big boy the kid in his pits.
I still don't get why anyone is scared of that bitch Brian deegan. He sounds like a fourth grade girl, and isn't any stronger. Add in his IQ of 30, and you have quite the winner. Left racing because he consistently got his ass kicked, went to showboating where again he got his ass kicked. Finally did well in trucks for a bit, and that's about it.
Did anybody catch who had the fastest race laps? Was a pic of Eli tire mark leaving the gate and it spun and hooked hard left. I think deegan is just bad on the mic. Remember his dad Brian with his nervous twitch laugh he had during freestyle, he was even worse.
And! lets not forget the Mental Moolish-uh!! They have had to made millions off this! All those sticker kits,bikes.trucks and every straight billed hat wearing dildo in California sporting those hats,and a pit bull but they are laughing all the way to the bank
I didn't bother to listen to him on the podium because I could care less what he has to say anymore. He's basically following in his fathers footsteps to give the most self absorbed interviews he can...apple and tree or something falling... At this point, I would say his ego is going to give him probably a short-lived career. That statement may not age well but when he swept Beaumers front tire, and head pipe almost, for that pass the announcers watched it from several angles and should have called it what it was instead of choosing to ignore it. He may go on to be the next McGrath for all I know at this point but I don't like seeing that dirty shit out there as professionals.
It will be interesting to see if he ends up like BAM BAM Barcia. He could have won a lot more races if he spent less time making enemies and knocking people down
I hate how some riders feel being 'controversial' for racing hard is something to be proud of. I know it's been 'a thing' for many years, but I'd have thought it would be uncool by now. I'm a student of racing so I remember those who came before Jason Lawrence, Tony Alessi's boys, etc. Jason Anderson is nearly as bad as Barcia. Vince Friese needed to have his AMA Pro license suspended years ago. I also am waiting patiently for H.D. to get his ass punted into the stadium seats.
Damn... maybe Herrin's high school nemeses and the Deegans can move right into that headspace... rent free. Remember that kid at Lorettas was from Canada...aye? Yes.. he's a "heel" and doesnt have the long strategy to keep you hating or maybe they do? The kid has undeniable talent & ability and is running a surplus of teenage hormones... Im sure there are plenty of goons that identify with or want to emulate him. Plenty of riders in the ranks to compete with.
Its hard to watch Jason Lawrence try to prove himself these days. Anderson has a couple championships and notable wins... and has the subtle attitude he won't get pushed around.
As long as I’ve ridden MX and watched SX I never have and never will understand how taking someone out to make a pass is the norm.
