Most of the changes are on the prep side... training, riding, nutrition. Oh and the bikes are all diesels. And ticket prices are quadrupple
Many were training intensely and focused on nutrition well before '83, but most also hid it to gain an advantage on their competitors.
Which makes you question how McGrath was so dominant during his career with 72 SX wins versus the rest of the riders on the list and their careers. Not making a statement on any racers ability but there are 8 racers with more SX wins than Hannah. And a bunch of racers on the all time win list, still racing, with the possibility of surpassing Johnson & Hannah (8th & 9th all time).
Lawrence bros and management company announced they fired their agent Mirtls for stealing. Pretty harsh wording most companies word it as let go and don't specify crimes due to defamation lawsuits.
Pumped to see local hero Drew Adams getting his shot tonight! I watched this kid go from riding 50s at our local track to filling in as a PC rider for his debut. Couldn't be more proud of the little fellar!
The layout using the full start straight in the continuing lap today is very different. I don't recall seeing a track do this in the past. Back to back whoops, with a jump out is another promising sign of maybe progressing back to the harder tracks.
The track at A1 was too busy and too tight, only a handful (Tomac) riders could come from behind and go to the front due to, no real passing areas. These races are getting to be a whoever can get a good start and stay upright, does well. Just trying to squeeze too much into to small of an area to get them to slow down. Then you get guys trying to over jump stuff, and try big quads to gain an edge. That risk isnt worth the reward, if you are not a perfect bike control guy, and then... Shit happens. Could end your career early. Ski
I didn’t read everything, but I’m here now getting rained on. Deegan is incredible out of this one corner, he is jumping way further than anyone else. I think he is quading this jump but cant really see from where I am.
I’m here with my best friend and he knows the guy in charge of the flaggers. Evidently he was asked to flag and it is all volunteer, which IMO is a joke with the money they make off of supercross.
I am not a deegan hater or a deegan nut swinger. The kid is fast. But, that podium interview was cringe. Dude, you just won. On the flip side, every sport needs a heel and deegan can be the best bad guy ever, if he wants, because he seems to be going that direction. He can back up his talk and that's good but I look at his age and my own kids and think, just shut your mouth and thank the people who worked their asses off to get you there.
