I'm a massive Eli fan, but all these guys gotta show they can at least fuck up Jetty's rhythm before they're even close to being in his head. Only guy who seems to even try is Webb. Sexton is looking good and Jett doesn't look typical ultra-smooth like we saw last year. There might be something to the bike issues, but he's also smart enough not to throw the whole season away if he's not feeling it tonight.
Deegan is so awesome to watch, but yeah the off-track personality leaves a lot to be desired. Impressive heat race from his 17-year old teammate. I like Beamer and he's looking solid tonight. I also think Jordon Smith would love to punt Deegan into the vending machines.
Both finals turned the season on it's head The big favorites had a bad day I'm hoping it's Joe Shimoda's year to win everything
Did anyone see the following two things. 1) Early on in the 450 race Bubba mentioned it. Roczen double jumped the 90 degree right turn over the tuff blocks, super tricky 2) The Shimoda Shake? He only did it twice in the rhythm lane. He quick scrubbed right then left then right. he is super trick and sneaky with that, but it's really fast when he does it. I have seen videos of him doing it on the rear wheel only in testing it's super trick. It's like he wheelies into the face and scrubs the jump as he wheelies into it. Everyone else smashes into the face of the jump and scrubs with the front wheel. It will be interesting to see if he tries to hone that skill as this year goes on.
1) Yes, saw a few others doing it too (I think). 2) Missed that. Good start for Jo. Hopefully he can build on it. Had Eli picked for the win. Might have been a great battle between him and Sexton if...
Happy to see Shimoda win. He seems nice and even a bit humble. Not always the most consistent but hopefully he can put that part together this year. I’d like to see Roczen win but I’ll take anybody as long as Neck Lawrence doesn’t run away with it.
I sooooo wanted to see Coty Schock punt Deegan into the weeds. It would have been a nice payback from last SX season when Deegan did it to Coty, and broke his collarbone in the process. It would have been justified, in my pea brain. Ski
You have to be impressed with either class when guys can ride through 80% of the field in a 20 min main. I saw Hunter turn it up in the heat when Tomac got within striking distance... guess he didn't want to relive the LCQ horror from last year.
I just spent the last three hours watching this. In my opinion it was incredible, but I've been an Eli fan since I watched him win his first ever pro race on the Geico Honda 250. I can't even think of any one thing to comment on at the moment. Lots of depth throughout it, rarely seen from Eli. I usually cringe at listening to Gypsy, but he didn't grate on me as badly in this session. The only way he's done at the end of this season is if he sucks hind tit. Highly doubtful after watching him yesterday.
Yeah it's dope so far. I'm about halfway in. He just seems very grounded as a person. Maybe it's all an act, but it seems pretty genuine. I can confirm that the Skunk Works book he mentioned is awesome. It's the former head of Lockheed's skin works division and he discusses the development of the U2/SR-71/F117. It's a great read.
Evan Ferry tore his Achilles in the heat race. Bummed for the kid. He was in 7th in his heat with a lap left. Was really hoping he’d have a great season. Kids had a rough few years Glad Deegan lost, his off track bs makes it hard to root for the kid. Tomac looks great! I think he gave away a win
Those were two really unexpected outcomes but great action for the most part. Bring it on to San Diego, can't wait. I hope Jo Shimoda can get another start. What they were saying on the broadcast reminds me of Lorenzo, he can just click off laps identical to each other.
