1st Official Heavy Braking Thread(or not)?

good one bryan!!! let's see a pic of your bike on the brakes, ya Sally!!!:D

sorry if I spelled your name wrong, I don't really know you, which is good

It's with an "i"... I don't have pics and I am not wanting to start a thread asking the world about my form... I don't need people to let me know what I already understand... I am not fast nor think I am. Asking the BBSers to validate that is something I am not really interested in.

It's just that it is looking like it is diving rather hard and appears soft as echoed by some rather informed others on here... Point is that from the pic, it appears to be too soft a spring and possibly a setup thing... I had no idea it was you - Matt - that was posting. I thought maybe it was another guy...

As for the "I don't know you, which is good"... ok. ??

Theoretical question here. Let's say you are braking and your forks are bottomed out. What happens when you hit a bump?

Will you low side facing into the corner or away from it?:D

this bike feels great. by the time you are hard off the brakes and trailing it is perfect! Now the lap time is only a 59 at Beaver so maybe a faster time will need more spring. Feel is fantastic as soft springs often are.

I'm confused (happens a lot.) Looking at the photo and lots of other photos I have from BeaveRun, that gravel "crossover road" (visible just behind you in th epic) comes to the front straight BEFORE the very first brake marker on the front straight. In the picture, you are obviously all the way into the brakes. So you're saying you're HARD on the brakes at that point and turning 00.59's at BeaveRun?

Like I say, that is confusing for me. I'm pretty sure that when I was braking at that point at the Beav, I was turning 1:18's or so.

Care to share some cornering low tips?

I thought the smiley face gets me off the hook of everything. j/k:clap: I'm pretty sure you have thick skin but I AM sorry if I came off jerky.

I am such a forum rookie. All I wanted to do was look at pictures of bikes hard on the brakes. Now all the sudden I'm fat and I need a suspension guy and NODOBY ELSE posted a pic yet. I told myself I wasn't going to cry.:p Come on now, there have got to be some cool smashed front end pics out there.

It's ok to cry dude. Happens to me all the time when Mongo picks on me. Just be glad Mad Brad isn't around anymore. :D

I have a feeling this was taken while the track was drying out from a heavy rain that lasted almost all morning and into the afternoon. The track may have had some wet spots or maybe there was a rider that slowed unexpectedly in front of me, who knows. I am not one to lie about lap times and THIS bike with THESE springs did a high 59 that weekend and it felt great. Now it took like 6 or 7 hours to get there so you are going to have to bet me about one or two thousand dollars to get me back out there so I can just show you. I'm game if you are. Like I wouldn't pay after posting this on the almighty BBS. And you ran 1.18's at some point at Beaver, I'm sorry.
