1996(ish) Ducati 900SS Track bike. This bike is NOT street legal and never will be. Track toy only. And a project track toy at that. It needs TLC.

    $3800 firm. No trades.

    The good:
    Ohlins shock
Superbike forks with aftermarket top triple clamp
    944 kit
    FCR 39mm carbs
"New" Michelin Power GP tires (They're a couple years old now but the bike hasn't been ridden)
New Mosfet series style regulator (Shindigen or however it's spelled)
    New EarthX lithium battery
    Valves adjusted
    Belts changed

    The not as good:
    NO TITLE.
    Not street legal.
Frame has had cracks repaired (before I bought it)
Some moron (aka me) dropped the gas tank while installing it so it's no longer in great shape. See pictures.
Front fairing mount is slightly tweaked
Misc damage from various crashes thoughout it's life. It's been a track bike for a lot of years from what I can tell.
    Bodywork is beat. See above.
FCRs need to be set up, it's a pain to start it if it's been sitting for a while. They have been rebuilt, I suspect accel pump issue?
Suspension hasn't been serviced in who knows how long.
An oil leak I thought I fixed isn't fixed. It's not horrible but it's a leak. I don't know where it's coming from or I would have fixed it...

    Misc details:
Tires installed spring of 2024, virtually unused other than rolling around in the shop.
    Airbox removed, pod filters added
Rear hugger is 3D printed and fits a 180mm tire
Wheels were painted with 2K paint before tire changes
    Steel swingarm with spindles added
"custom" rear stand included. (Home made, came with bike)
No key to start, flip the switch and it's ready to go.
    No lights of any sort.
Also no ECU to reflash. Certainly no ABS, no traction control, no wheelie control, no rider modes, no electronic nannies whatsoever.
    Yestertech at it's finest.

    The story:
A few years ago I bought this because I have a soft spot for neglected Ducatis. I thought I'd give it some TLC and use it 2-3 times per year. I still haven't ridden it at a track. I took it out for a test ride, the bike ran for about 1/4 mile then died. Turned out to be the wires to the fuel pump. I addressed that but haven't even started it since.

Also comes with various spare parts. Mostly small stuff, take offs from the various bikes that have given up parts for this over the years I would assume. No treasures, they came with the bike when I got it.

Price is firm, if I can't get this for it I'll put the shock on my Superlight and shove this back into the corner until I get the urge to work on it again.

This is listed in various Ducati groups. The bike is near Ann Arbor, MI and I strongly prefer an in person sale with no shipping involved.

    Thanks for looking!

Exciting developments on the 900ss story!

I moved it from storage to my garage today and discovered a couple things.

First. the fooking fuel pump is dead again. I strongly suspect the fuel level sender assy doohickey with the internal wiring. IIRC that's something like a $160 part? Or was. Anyway... it's junk, would need to be replaced before the bike will work.

Also, the peg on the shifter is junk too. If I was going to keep it I'd turn up a new one on the lathe and bolt it in place, but you do you. I can only say at some point the peg is going to fall off of the lever.

BUT - there is good news too, in that it runs. Range is quite limited due to the only fuel it will carry is whatever fits in the bowls, the fuel line, and the funnel, but it still counts as running.

AND... due to this recent change in status, the price has dropped to cover costs. $3500 and it's yours. Take it home today.

I will soon be adding photos of the parts that go with it so stay tuned for more exciting details!

Here are some of the parts that come with it.

No guarantees if any of them are good or even useable. There is also a box of axles and spindles and long stuff somewhere, along with a bunch of misc springs and bolts and small stuff. A set of forks off of a CR that are gouged from a stainless brake line. A set of wheels off of a CR (4.5" rear) that were painted by a blind 2nd grader (I'm guessing). Misc engine parts. Other stuff I've forgotten about but will uncover when I move other things around.

    A couple more pictures

Axles, engine bolt, swingarm spindle, misc engine parts and spacers, etc

Engine internals, crank, rods, gears, misc BS.

If you want the broken case these parts came out of I can throw that in too. I have more but cleaning the shop is going slower than expected. OK, that part was kind of expected.

This isn't two sets of wheels, it's three rears and a front. Two of them are narrow (4.5") wheels, one of them is the wider 5.5" wheel. And a 3.5" front. The fork is off of a CR and has cosmetic damage.

My money says someone bought/ran braided lines with no cover on them but who knows.

    Summer clearance price,

    $2500

Come on, you need a project. And who needs all that nanny electronics and fancy schmancy water cooling BS????

Hey, with your skills and a little Krylon I'm sure you could have it looking JUST like this in no time, only with a fancier shock!
